Summary:

  • Claims to be a non-stimulating alternative to Phentermine

  • May be a better option for those with sensitivity to stimulants

  • PhenPhast Advanced does contain ingredients a small amount of caffeine

  • It is important to speak with your physician prior to using PhenPhast Advanced
  • PhenPhast Advanced is a non-prescription diet pill that promises rapid weight loss with its “double –strength” formula. It should come as no surprise that this dietary supplement from NaturaPrime promises appetite suppression. The reason is that the vast majority of over-the-counter (OTC) weight loss products that have the word “phen” in their name are marketed as alternatives to the prescription diet drug Phentermine.

PhenPhast supposedly works as a thermogenic, boosting metabolism and enhancing fat loss. In addition to suppressing appetite it also claims to improve focus and boost energy levels.

The formula consists of a PhenPhast Advanced Complex, which is composed of a 1,000 mg per serving of L-Carnitine, L-Arginine, L-Ornithine, L-Glutamine, Tyrosine, Tryptophan, Beta-Alanine, GABA, Chromium, Hoodia, Grapefruit Powder, African Mango, Green Tea Leaf Extract, EGCG, Panax Ginseng, Glycyrrhizin Extract, Gymnema Sylvestre, Coleus Forskohlii, Grape Seed Extract, Astragalus, and Maca Powder.

Unfortunately, there are no clinical trials to backup any of the claims made about this product. Furthermore, none of the ingredients – not even those that have been proven to improve mental focus and help with fat burning (ex. Green Tea), have ever been scientifically proven to cause weight loss.

Furthermore, it is also important to point out that right on the PhenPhast product label it states that the product is “non-stimulating”. However, you might have noticed in the list of ingredients that it contains Green Tea Leaf Extract which typically contains caffeine. However, the caffeine in green tea is often so mild that it is unlikely to cause the harsher side effects associated with caffeine anhydrous, such as insomnia, jitters, rapid heartbeat, etc. Be that as it may, the product doesn’t tell you how much green tea is in each serving. Still, the term “non-stimulating” is not the same as “stimulant-free”. The product isn’t claiming to be without stimulants only that it won’t cause stimulating effects.

At the time that this review was written, PhenPhast Advanced sold on Amazon for $23.99. Each bottled contains 60 capsules (a one month supply). Users are instructed to take 2 capsules per day with an 8 ounce glass of water. Beyond this suggested use instruction, there are no other directions for users (ex. when to take the pills, if they should be taken together, if they should be taken on an empty stomach or with food, etc.).

Prior to taking PhenPhast Advanced it would be a good idea to first consult with your healthcare provider. He or she can help you decide if PhenPhast is a good choice for your particular lifestyle, state of health and your weight loss goals.
