PhenApex

PhenApex is an over-the-counter weight loss formula that is marketed as an alternative to prescription weight loss drugs, such as an Adipex alternative. In fact, at the time this review was written, the official product page for this dietary supplement stated that “PhenApex is the number one alternative to Prescription of losing weight also maintaining a blend of powerful ingredients.”

That statement was copied verbatim from the site. As you likely have noticed, it doesn’t make much sense because it’s clearly missing a couple of words. This has to make you wonder about the quality of the supplements formula if the content on the site for the product hasn’t even been proofed!

That being said, what PhenApex claims to do is boost metabolism and control appetite. When combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise, it supposedly helps to increase metabolism, and fight stubborn belly fat “without nauseating or harmful side effects.”

Not an Adipex Alternative – No Ingredients List and No Studies

The claims for this “powerful, scientifically engineered formula” that “gives you results” sounds promising, but there is one major problem. While the site boasts all of these claims, they are entirely unsubstantiated. Not only are there no studies to back up the claims, a basic ingredients list hasn’t even been provided.

When this review was written, the official product site for PhenApex didn’t even include a supplement facts sheet. Regardless of the reason why the ingredients have not been disclosed, the fact is that without a list, there is no way to know how safe or effective the product may be. Moreover, it makes one wonder what it is the company has to hide.

Consult with Your Doctor Before Taking PhenApex

Interestingly enough, while its formula appears to be a secret, the manufacturer has no problem selling their product. When this review was created, a 1 month supply (60 pills) cost $55.00.

However, the bottom line is that without listing any ingredients, any claims made about the product have no merit. There is zero percent proof that it works. In other words, don’t waste your money on PhenApex. There are many other OTC alternatives to prescription Phentermine that you can consider.

Just remember that before you take any OTC weight loss aids, you should still consult with your doctor first, even though a prescription is not needed. Many weight loss supplements contain ingredients that may not be suitable or safe for certain people with sensitivities, for those who are currently taking other medications, or those who have an existing health condition.

PhenApex Update – December 2020

Currently, PhenApex is still sold online in both tablet and capsule form. However, the marketing for this product has dramatically changed. Although it was once marketed as an alternative to prescription medications like Adipex, the sales page for this product has since changed its tune and instead focuses on claiming to have a formula composed of scientifically researched ingredients that are a safer alternative to Ma Huang, otherwise known as ephedra.

More specifically, it claims to have a “triple action effect”. This includes:

  • Helping burn body fat
  • Suppressing appetite
  • Providing increased energy

Ingredients List

When the above PhenApex review was written, no supplement facts were provided. This has also changed. Now, the formula’s ingredients have been revealed and these include:

  • L-Phenylalanine
  • 7-KETO (DHEA)
  • L-Taurine
  • Synephrine HCl
  • L-Carnitine

The suggested use is to take this diet pill alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise and to take 1 to 2 pills 30 minutes before breakfast and again before lunch.

Still Not a Trustworthy Product

While it seems that PhenApex has cleaned up its act, at the same time, it still makes unsubstantiated claims by stating its pills will cause certain effects such as appetite suppression and boosting energy. There have been no studies conducted specifically on this product to prove these claims. Moreover, the sales page (not even an official manufacturer site) for this diet pill does not include citations for the studies it mentions regarding the ingredients it has selected for the formula.

Ultimately, it would likely be in your best interest to avoid PhenApex and consider another OTC diet pill from a more reputable business. At the very least, consult with your healthcare provider before taking this product.

FenTrim

FenTrim is a metabolism-boosting, appetite suppressant and energy amplifier, designed to enhance mood and stimulate thermogenesis. It is an over-the-counter (OTC) diet pill from SutraHealth. It is meant to help individuals who are seeking to lose weight, achieve their weight loss goals.

The formula is made up of a proprietary blend that is comprised of several well-known ingredients commonly found in many OTC diet pills on the weight loss market. These ingredients include: L-Phenylalanine, Theobromine, Caffeine, Synephrine HCL, L-Taurine, L-Carnitine (as Tartrate), DHEA (Dedhydoepiandrosterone).

Each of these substances have been studied in one way or another. Some clinical studies have found that some of these ingredients may have the potential to benefit weight loss. For example, research has found that L-Phenylalanine may work to help suppress appetite by blocking the hormone cholecystokinin, which tells the brain when the body’s hunger is satisfied. L-Carnitine is thought to lower body fat and boost energy levels. Among other benefits, Caffeine, Theobromine, Syneprhine, and L-Taurine are also believed to be energy boosters.

Although there is sufficient scientific evidence that proves caffeine can help to increase a person’s alertness, beyond this evidence, there is no clinical proof that any of these ingredients will actually benefit those who take them for weight loss.

Furthermore, it should also be noted that FenTrim contains multiple stimulants or ingredients containing stimulants. The presence of stimulants, especially more than one, increases the risk of unpleasant side effects, some of which may include insomnia, jitters, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, digestive upset, headaches, etc.

In addition, this product contains synephrine, a naturally occurring stimulant in citrus aurantium (bitter orange). This is troubling because synephrine has been found to enhance the effects of caffeine, which may not only increase the risk of certain adverse effects, but also result in much more dangerous side effects, such as fainting, high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke.

Due to the fact that this dietary supplement contains a potentially harmful combination of ingredients, it would be wise to first speak with your healthcare provider before taking it. Anyone with sensitivity to stimulants or who has an allergy to any of this pill’s ingredients should avoid taking FenTrim.

When this review was written, each bottle contained 60 white and blue speckled tablets, which is the equivalent to a 30-day supply. A single bottle of FenTrim cost $35.95 on Amazon. The suggested dose is to take 2 pills, daily (1 tablet on an empty stomach before breakfast and 1 before lunch).

PhenaTrim

PhenaTrim is a non-prescription diet pill that claims it can suppress appetite and melt away fat without users having to change their diet. This “high performance multi-stage, weight loss formula” will apparently help you to shed pounds and burn off calories without you having to spend hours at the gym. Claiming to provide drastic weight loss for those who are overweight or for those who simply want to lose those stubborn pounds that they just can’t shake, PhenaTrim supposedly burns fats, increases energy levels, decreases overeating, and increases metabolism.

When this review was written, a single bottle of PhenaTrim could be purchased for $21.95. Users are instructed to take 1 capsule 30 minutes prior to breakfast and 1 capsule 30 minutes prior to lunch. Each dosage should be taken with a full glass of water.

The ingredients in PhenaTrim include: . Each of these ingredients is believed to help weight loss. For instance: Vitamin B3, Garcinia Cambogia, DHEA, Fucoxanthin, Guarana

Vitamin B3 is believed to assist with energy metabolism and nervous system function. It is also supposed to be good for digestion, as well as for healthy skin. It can also assist in lowering blood pressure, help promote healthy digestion, and reduce cholesterol triglyceride levels.

Garcinia Cambogia is thought to assist with weight loss when it is combined with a healthy diet and exercise. There have also been studies that have discovered that its HCA content may help to prevent sugar from being transformed into fat.

DHEA is believed to assist in the burning of calories for energy and assists in the blocking of G6PD, a major enzyme that manages the production of fat tissue.

Fucoxantin may improve resting energy expenditure without stimulating the central nervous system. This means that it does not increase the risk of stimulant-related side effects, such as insomnia and jitters.

Guarana may have the ability to boost energy, as well as enhance memory and physical endurance. It is thought that Guarana may also help with fat cell reduction and help a person feel full.

Although everyone of these ingredients have been clinically studied, none of them have been scientifically proven to benefit weight loss. What this means, plain and simple, is that there is no proof or guarantee that taking PhenaTrim will help a person lose weight. In addition, while at the time this review was written the PhenaTrim site stated that you can “lose weight without changing your diet”, the reality is that this weight loss supplement will not work miracles on its own. If you want to shed pounds, regular exercise and a calorie-conscious diet is important for shedding fat.

Moreover, because this diet pill contains stimulants, there is a risk of certain side effects including sleeplessness, jitters, heart palpitation, anxiety, gastrointestinal upset, etc. Therefore, before taking PhenaTrim it would be prudent to first speak with your medical practitioner, to make sure it is safe for you.
