Adiphene

The name of this RDK Global Pharmaceutical product sounds like a fusion of the names of the two prescription diet pills “Adipex” and “Phentermine”. Adiphene has primarily been designed to reduce fat, which the manufacturer claims is made possible through its 12 different ingredients that “help you tackle fat in five different ways.”

The Adiphene Formula

According to the official product page, at the time this review was written, the Adiphene formula consists of:

  • Vitamin B6
  • L-Carnitine HCL
  • Ginger Root
  • Chitosan
  • Glucomannan
  • Cinnamon Extract
  • Cayenne Capsicum
  • Bitter Orange
  • Chromium Picolinate
  • Guarana Extract
  • Ginseng Panax Root Extract
  • Cacao Extract

More specifically, the benefits that these ingredients provide include:

  • Fat burning – Vitamin B6, L-carnitine HCL, and ginger root extract may help to boost your metabolism and quickly burn off excess fat.
  • Fat binding – Chitosan may bind to fat in the stomach, stopping your body from absorbing this fat during digestion. Instead, fat is expelled from the body as waste.
  • Appetite suppression – Glucomannan may reduce the feelings of hunger, which can help a person eat less, which means that they ingest fewer calories.
  • Thermogenic boosting – Cinnamon extract and cayenne capsicum supposedly help to burn off even more calories by using fat as energy to heat up the body.
  • Energy boosting – Bitter orange, chromium picolinate, guarana extract, ginseng panax root extract, and cacao extract are all natural stimulants that can help to increase energy, assisting in the support of maximum fat burning.

Unlike many other product pages for diet pills, Adiphene’s official site contains details about the ingredients within its formula, providing more than a basic ingredients list. Unfortunately, on the other hand, it does not provide any studies to support its claims.

Risk of Potential Side Effects

Additionally, there are a few concerns about this product. The primary one is the risk of potential side effects due to the number of stimulants in the Adiphene formula. Not only does more than one stimulant increase the risk of unpleasant side effects like sleeplessness, heart palpitations, jitters, mood fluctuations, digestive upset, headache, anxiety, etc. but the combination of bitter orange and ingredients that contain caffeine, like guarana extract, can be dangerous.

Bitter orange contains the stimulant synephrine, and the FDA has warned that when it is combined with caffeine it can increase the risk of severe cardiovascular effects, such as heart attack and stroke. Therefore, it is very important for anyone interested in taking this weight loss supplement to first consult with their medical practitioner.

When this review was written, a 30-day supply of Adiphene cost $69.95.

September 2020 Update

Adiphene, like so many other bogus nonprescription Adipex and phentermine alternatives, has been discontinued. Although it is not known why this product failed to be restocked on the virtual shelves of online retailers like Amazon, or why the manufacturer decided to call it quits, there are a few reasons as to why this product may have been discontinued.

For instance, contributing factors may have been:

  • Lack of efficacy evidence – In the above Adiphene review it was noted that while the manufacturer went that extra mile to talk about the ingredients within the formula, at the same time there were no studies or clinical research provided to backup the claims it made about these ingredients. Times change, laws change and the language that is considered acceptable to describe a product can make or break its success. Today’s consumers are not keen on being misled.
  • Side effects – There were many stimulants in the Adiphene formula. As such, the likelihood of users experiencing adverse effects (e.g. sleeplessness, jitters, etc.), even when taken as recommended on the product label, were likely, even for those who weren’t naturally sensitive to stimulants.
  • Cost – A one month supply cost almost $70! Using this diet pill alongside a weight management strategy could become quite costly for the average user. Not to mention, there has always been plenty of competition in the market and plenty of cheaper options.

About the Caffeine and Synephrine Combo

Regardless of the reasons why Adiphene may have been discontinued, it is important to note that it likely wasn’t because it contained both caffeine and synephrine. When the initial review for this product was written, at the time, the FDA did warn that these two stimulants could be a dangerous combination.

However, since then, more research has been conducted on combined caffeine and synephrine consumption in humans, and while longer term studies are needed to assess both the tolerability and efficacy of these two substances used in combination, overall, when used together, they do not appear to result in any more notable adverse or dangerous effects beyond what a person would experience through the consumption of caffeine alone.

That being said, keep in mind that the greater the amount of these substances used within a formula, the higher the potential risk of negative reactions. At the end of the day, it is often best to simply avoid taking diet pills like Adiphene, that contain multiple stimulant ingredients.

Pure Research Fat Burner

Pure Research Fat Burner is a thermogenic fat burner from manufacturer Pure Research. It supposedly helps to “burn stored fat rapidly”, “facilitates decreased appetite safely”, “support block fat storage”, and “boosts natural increase energy”. While it does not claim to be a phentermine alternative, it is an OTC diet pill that claims to provide energy boosting and appetite suppression, the two primary benefits of popular diet drugs like Phentermine.

The official Pure Research Fat Burner webpage claims that the product is a professionally formulated fat burner that is a high quality thermogenic and lipogenic fat burner. This diet pill is supposed to work by boosting fat metabolizing and increasing mental acuity as well as aiding in energy and focus. It is also supposed to target belly fat and help lower food cravings to help you maintain a healthy eating lifestyle.

The ingredients in this dietary supplement, when this Pure Research Fat Burner review was written, were split up into three different blends as follows: Energy and Focus Blend (Caffeine, Phenylethylamine HCl, Glucomanan, Fursultiamine, L-Tyrosine), Thermogenesis Blend (Green Tea Extract, Raspberry Ketones, Yohimbe Bark), Lipogenic Blend (Kola Nut, L-Carnitine).

The suggested use is to take 1 capsule in the morning. While up to 2 capsules can be taken per day, no more than 2 should be exceeded within a 24 hour period. Users are also warned not to take this pill after 4 pm and are cautioned not to use Pure Research Fat Burner for longer than 8 weeks straight. If they would like to continue using the product, they should go off it for 2 weeks before resuming use.

Based on the ingredients list and the recommended use warnings, it’s evident that this product contains many stimulant ingredients. The primary stimulant is caffeine, as this diet pill includes both the ingredient as well as other herbs that contain caffeine, including green tea and kola nut. That said, it also contains other stimulants, such as phenylethylamine and yohimbe.

Due to the number of stimulants in this dietary supplement, it is likely that you will receive a boost in mental alertness. That being said, there is no proof that you will experience appetite suppression, energy boosting, or greater fat burning in any notable way that will lead to measurable weight loss. Pure Research Fat Burner has never been proven effective for aiding in or causing weight loss.

Furthermore, be advised that since this product contains stimulants, there is a risk of side effects, such as insomnia, jitters, restlessness, anxiety, headache, upset stomach, etc. Therefore, it is a good idea to first speak with your healthcare provider before taking this diet pill.

When this review was written, Pure Research Fat Burner could be purchased for $21.99 on Amazon.

PHEN MAXX XR

PHEN MAXX XR 37.5 is a non-prescription diet pill from MD Pharma. Marketed as an over-the-counter (OTC) dietary supplement alternative to Phentermine, this weight management aid was designed to aid in the suppression of appetite, boost energy levels and encourage thermogenic fat burning.

At the time that this review for PHEN MAXX XR was created, each capsule contained 670 mg of the following Proprietary Formula that was composed of these three complexes:

Weight Loss & Metabolic Intensity Complex – Green Tea Extract, Raspberry Ketone, Glucomanan, African Mango, Grapefruit Extract, Acai Berry Extract.

Energy & Focus Complex – Green Coffee Bean Extract.

Appetite Suppressant Complex – Garcinia Cambogia, Apple Cider Vinegar Extract.

Each of these ingredients are well known within the OTC weight loss industry and many have been clinically studied to determine their effects on weight loss. For instance, caffeine, which is present in both the green tea and green coffee bean of this formula, has been found to improve mental focus and may help with fat burning in some people, particularly when combined with a reduced calorie diet and exercise.

Ingredients, such as glucomanan, apple cider vinegar, and garcinia cambogia are believed to help with appetite suppression and the controlling of hunger and cravings, which may be beneficial to those who are struggling to maintain a diet low in calories.

Green tea, green coffee bean, raspberry ketones and acai berry are also thought to help with energy boosting and fat burning.

That being said, in spite of popular claims made about these ingredients, any research in regard to these substances and their effect on weight loss is preliminary. They are not clinically proven weight loss ingredients. In essence, there is no guarantee that taking PHEN MAXX XR will assist in or lead to weight loss.

Still, if you want the best potential results from any dietary supplement for weight loss, including PHEN MAXX XR, you should always use these products as recommended by the manufacturer or your healthcare provider. In fact, it’s always a good idea to consult with your doctor prior to taking dietary supplements to help manage your weight or for any other health reason. This is even true when choosing diet pills that work.

In the case of PHEN MAXX XR, the suggested use is to take 1 capsule on an empty stomach 30 to 60 minutes before lunch with 8 ounces of water and then 1 more capsule 30 – 60 minutes before dinner with another 8 ounces of water.

It should also be noted that due to the fact that this product contains caffeine, you should avoid taking it at least 5 hours before bed to reduce the risk of sleep disturbances. This might be particularly important if you are sensitive to stimulants.

When this PHEN MAXX XR review was written, a single bottle contained 60 capsules and could be purchased on Amazon for $59.99.

Adicore

Adicore is a pharmaceutical grade non-prescription diet pill. It is marketed as an advanced weight loss formula. It claims to help individuals seeking to shed excess fat reach their goal with the help of appetite suppression, long lasting energy, improved thermogenesis and heightened lipogenesis.

More specifically, Adicore consists of 3 blends of natural ingredients specially formulated to aid in thermogenesis, energy and focus and Liogenic. The formula was created in an FDA/GMO certified lab.

When this review was written, the ingredients in Adicore included: Energy and Focus Blend (Caffeine, Phenylethylamine HCl, Glucomanan, Fursultiamine, L-Tyrosine) Thermogenesis Blend (Green Tea Extract, Raspberry Ketones, Yohimbe Bark), Lipogenic Blend (Kola Nut, L-Carnitine).

Based on this ingredients list, it is clear that this formula contains thermogenics, fat burners, energy boosters and appetite suppressants. It is quite likely, at the very least, that Adicore will provide you with enhanced energy and mental focus, which may be beneficial to your overall weight loss program, particularly in terms of helping you keep up with your exercise.

That being said, it also contains multiple stimulants, which means that the risk of experiencing unwanted stimulant-related side effects such as sleeplessness, restlessness, jitters, anxiety, headache, upset stomach, etc. are higher.

Users are instructed to take 1 capsule in the morning. Up to 2 capsules can be taken in a 24-hour period, but these pills should not be taken after 4 pm. The reason is that it contains stimulants and taking this product too close to bedtime could result in insomnia or disrupted sleep. It is also recommended for users to take Adicore for no longer than 8 weeks straight. This should be followed by a 2 week rest period before it can be used again. Adicore is meant to be used with a proper diet and exercise program.

At the time that this review was written, Adicore could be purchased on Amazon for $19.95. While this can be considered a reasonable price for a single bottle of diet pills containing 60 capsules (a one month supply), it is important to note that when this review was created no official website existed for Adicore, which could mean that the product is no longer being manufactured.

Regardless of whether or not this is true, it is recommended that you first speak with your healthcare provider prior to taking Adicore. This is especially important if you are sensitive to stimulants, have an existing medical condition, are currently taking any medications (prescription or non-prescription) or supplements, or are pregnant, nursing or planning to become pregnant.

Users are instructed to take 1 Phen24 Day capsule in the morning with breakfast and to take 2 Phen24 Night capsules 15 minutes prior to their evening meal with 1 to 2 glasses of water. Furthermore, it is recommended that users eat early dinners due to the fact that late dinners can contribute to more belly fat. This product is meant to be used in conjunction with a healthy calorie-reduced diet and regular exercise.

When this review was written, a one month supply of Phen24 cost $84.99 and included two bottles: one Phen24 Day bottle containing 30 pills and one Phen24 Night bottle containing 60 pills. It could also be purchased from the official Phen24 product site.

Although many of the ingredients within Phen24 are commonly used in the OTC weight loss industry and many have been clinically studied, be advised that there is no guarantee that taking these products will contribute to measurable weight loss. Also, be advised that while the night time formula does not contain stimulants the daytime one does. Therefore this dietary supplement may not be the best choice for anyone who has sensitivity to stimulants like caffeine.

Prior to taking Phen24 it is advised that you first speak with your healthcare provider, especially if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, are nursing, or have a current medical condition or are taking any medications.
