Adiphene

The name of this RDK Global Pharmaceutical product sounds like a fusion of the names of the two prescription diet pills “Adipex” and “Phentermine”. Adiphene has primarily been designed to reduce fat, which the manufacturer claims is made possible through its 12 different ingredients that “help you tackle fat in five different ways.”

The Adiphene Formula

According to the official product page, at the time this review was written, the Adiphene formula consists of:

  • Vitamin B6
  • L-Carnitine HCL
  • Ginger Root
  • Chitosan
  • Glucomannan
  • Cinnamon Extract
  • Cayenne Capsicum
  • Bitter Orange
  • Chromium Picolinate
  • Guarana Extract
  • Ginseng Panax Root Extract
  • Cacao Extract

More specifically, the benefits that these ingredients provide include:

  • Fat burning – Vitamin B6, L-carnitine HCL, and ginger root extract may help to boost your metabolism and quickly burn off excess fat.
  • Fat binding – Chitosan may bind to fat in the stomach, stopping your body from absorbing this fat during digestion. Instead, fat is expelled from the body as waste.
  • Appetite suppression – Glucomannan may reduce the feelings of hunger, which can help a person eat less, which means that they ingest fewer calories.
  • Thermogenic boosting – Cinnamon extract and cayenne capsicum supposedly help to burn off even more calories by using fat as energy to heat up the body.
  • Energy boosting – Bitter orange, chromium picolinate, guarana extract, ginseng panax root extract, and cacao extract are all natural stimulants that can help to increase energy, assisting in the support of maximum fat burning.

Unlike many other product pages for diet pills, Adiphene’s official site contains details about the ingredients within its formula, providing more than a basic ingredients list. Unfortunately, on the other hand, it does not provide any studies to support its claims.

Risk of Potential Side Effects

Additionally, there are a few concerns about this product. The primary one is the risk of potential side effects due to the number of stimulants in the Adiphene formula. Not only does more than one stimulant increase the risk of unpleasant side effects like sleeplessness, heart palpitations, jitters, mood fluctuations, digestive upset, headache, anxiety, etc. but the combination of bitter orange and ingredients that contain caffeine, like guarana extract, can be dangerous.

Bitter orange contains the stimulant synephrine, and the FDA has warned that when it is combined with caffeine it can increase the risk of severe cardiovascular effects, such as heart attack and stroke. Therefore, it is very important for anyone interested in taking this weight loss supplement to first consult with their medical practitioner.

When this review was written, a 30-day supply of Adiphene cost $69.95.

September 2020 Update

Adiphene, like so many other bogus nonprescription Adipex and phentermine alternatives, has been discontinued. Although it is not known why this product failed to be restocked on the virtual shelves of online retailers like Amazon, or why the manufacturer decided to call it quits, there are a few reasons as to why this product may have been discontinued.

For instance, contributing factors may have been:

  • Lack of efficacy evidence – In the above Adiphene review it was noted that while the manufacturer went that extra mile to talk about the ingredients within the formula, at the same time there were no studies or clinical research provided to backup the claims it made about these ingredients. Times change, laws change and the language that is considered acceptable to describe a product can make or break its success. Today’s consumers are not keen on being misled.
  • Side effects – There were many stimulants in the Adiphene formula. As such, the likelihood of users experiencing adverse effects (e.g. sleeplessness, jitters, etc.), even when taken as recommended on the product label, were likely, even for those who weren’t naturally sensitive to stimulants.
  • Cost – A one month supply cost almost $70! Using this diet pill alongside a weight management strategy could become quite costly for the average user. Not to mention, there has always been plenty of competition in the market and plenty of cheaper options.

About the Caffeine and Synephrine Combo

Regardless of the reasons why Adiphene may have been discontinued, it is important to note that it likely wasn’t because it contained both caffeine and synephrine. When the initial review for this product was written, at the time, the FDA did warn that these two stimulants could be a dangerous combination.

However, since then, more research has been conducted on combined caffeine and synephrine consumption in humans, and while longer term studies are needed to assess both the tolerability and efficacy of these two substances used in combination, overall, when used together, they do not appear to result in any more notable adverse or dangerous effects beyond what a person would experience through the consumption of caffeine alone.

That being said, keep in mind that the greater the amount of these substances used within a formula, the higher the potential risk of negative reactions. At the end of the day, it is often best to simply avoid taking diet pills like Adiphene, that contain multiple stimulant ingredients.

PhenBurn 750

PhenBurn 750 is the “high strength version of PhenBurn 375” according to eBody, the manufacturer behind the product. It contains the same ingredients as the other weight loss formula but a double dosage of the PhenBurn proprietary blend.

This OTC weight loss alternative product to prescription Phentermine is said to contain a blend of high quality ingredients to help a person manage weight. It can also apparently help bolster energy to give you greater focus for your workouts as well as can reduce appetite, providing a sense of fullness.

PhenBurn 750 Formula

The PhenBurn 750 formula contains all the same ingredients found in PhenBurn 375, but with double the amount of each. These ingredients include:

  • Caffeine
  • Green Coffee Extract
  • L-Carnitine
  • L-Tartrate
  • Guarana Extract
  • Green Tea Extract
  • Kola Nut Extract

It also includes a Phenburn Proprietary Blend (DL Phenylalanine, Naringin): Conjugated Linoleic Acid, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Cyanocobalamin Prep, Chromium Picolinate.

What Studies Have Found

Many of the ingredients used within this formula can be found in several other weight loss products on the market. Furthermore, the majority of them have been clinically tested at one point or another to determine their effectiveness for health and weight loss.

For instance, some research involving caffeine have found it to be an energy booster that can encourage alertness. Some even believe that in certain people, caffeine may help to suppress appetite. On the other hand, L-carnitine is thought to help with fatty acid metabolism, green tea is believed to be a powerful antioxidant, and conjugated linoleic acid may improve muscle mass.

Be that as it may, aside from giving you an energy boost, it is not likely that you will lose weight from taking this product because none of the ingredients, including caffeine, have ever been proven effective for aiding in weight loss. It is important to remember that just because an ingredient was scientifically tested or studied, this does not mean that it was proven.

Thus, PhenBurn 750 cannot realistically or truthfully provide you with a weight loss guarantee.

It is very important that you first speak with your medical professional before taking this product. The primary reason is it contains a significant amount of stimulants, including caffeine and multiple ingredients that contain caffeine (e.g green coffee, green tea, guarana, kola nut) among others, which means that the risk of insomnia and other adverse side effects are high. As such, this weight loss supplement should be avoided by anyone who has sensitivities to stimulants.

Users are instructed to take 2 capsules in total, per day: 1 capsule 15-30 minutes before breakfast with water and 1 capsule in the afternoon. Until caffeine tolerance is established, the recommended dose is 1 capsule per day.

When this review was written, 60 capsules (a one month supply) of PhenBurn 750 cost £34.95 ($54.00).

Update – August 2020

PhenBurn 750 is currently unavailable and has likely been discontinued. Although the eBody website still exists, the page for PhenBurn 750 does not. In fact, there is no mention of this product or any other product with the word “Phen” in its title.

Beware of Overdoing it with Stimulants

Although this diet pill is no longer available, there are other weight management aids on the market that contain just as much (and sometimes more) stimulant content. This is a common practice among manufacturers of products that have been developed to be marketed as nonprescription Phentermine alternatives.

While stimulants like caffeine can certainly help to provide a boost in mental alertness and give metabolism a boost, which can support weight management efforts, particularly those related to exercise, too much isn’t a good thing. In fact, the side effects associated with overdosing on stimulants including caffeine (e.g. jitters, restless, insomnia, rapid heartbeat, heart palpitations, headache, mood changes, digestive upset, anxiety, increased blood pressure, etc.), can outweigh any potential benefit they may provide.

Additionally, while several studies have found that caffeine can increase mental alertness and accelerate metabolism, there is no quality research to support claims that it can help with appetite suppression. In fact, according to a more recent research conducted in 2018, results of the study suggested that caffeine does not have an effect on appetite suppression.

Understand, this doesn’t mean that you should avoid all diet pills that contain caffeine. When taken in the right amounts and in combination with an appropriate weight management strategy, caffeine may be beneficial to some people, particularly in terms of combating fatigue. However, it is very important to make sure you are taking a product that is safe and right for you and doesn’t contain multiple stimulant ingredients, like in the case of PhenBurn 750, because this is likely to cause more harm than good.

Remember, if you should ever have any doubts or concerns about the ingredients within a formula, consulting your doctor is always best.

Thermo Rip Fat Burner

Thermo Rip Fat Burner is a non-prescription weight management supplement developed to help a user to boost his or her metabolic rate in order to reduce body fat. Moreover, this diet pill is also used as an energy booster. It is manufactured by a company called Fitness Labs. That company’s products are made to help people who are seeking various kinds of results by way of an active lifestyle.

The manufacturer’s official product page on its website claims that Thermo Rip Fat Burner is “made with 5 top diet ingredients to help enhance metabolism, reduce body fat and increase energy.”

At the time of the writing of this Thermo Rip Fat Burner review, the ingredients in the formula were listed under a proprietary Thermo Rip Complex. This complex consisted of: Sinetrol Xpur Fruit Extracts (grapefruit extract, sweet orange extract, guarana extract, blood orange extract), Green Tea Leaf Extract, Caffeine Anhydrous, L-Tyrosine, Cayenne Pepper.

Statements from Fitness Labs on its official website indicate that Sinetrol Xpur’s fruit extracts contain certain bioactive flavonoids that have been researched and demonstrated to be able to enhance lipolysis, that is, the breakdown of fat. The next ingredient, green tea, was selected for its EGCG content. That compound has been researched as a fat burner to help boost the body’s own capabilities for fat burning. When combined with caffeine, these two ingredients are said to further boost fat fighting while increasing energy levels as well. L-tyrosine is also often seen as a natural fat burner, while cayenne pepper speeds up the metabolism through thermogenesis, that is, increasing the body temperature.

It’s important to note that none of these ingredients are considered to be proven for weight loss. The only proven ingredient in this list is the caffeine which is indeed considered to be an energy booster as well as a focus enhancer that improves alertness.

Still, increased energy and alertness can help to make it easier for dieters to stick to their own weight loss strategies. Therefore, the amount of weight lost depends on the diet and exercise selected by the dieter and how well he or she sticks to it.

At the time this review was written, one package of Thermo Rip Fat Burner was sold for $42.99. To take this product according to the package directions, two capsules are swallowed twice per day. It is recommended that these be taken at breakfast and lunchtime as taking it too late in the day can cause sleep disturbances due to the caffeine content.

Fen HCL Capsules

Fen HCL capsules is a non-prescription weight loss product designed to provide effective appetite suppression and hunger control as well as helps to control blood sugar levels. This product comes from FenHCL and should not be confused with the company’s other product Fen HCL Tablets. Although also designed for weight loss, the time-released tablet product contains a different formula.

Each white and blue capsule is formulated from all natural ingredients, which include: 20:1 Hoodia Extract, Guarana Extract and a Proprietary Blend of Cha De Bugre, Ginseng, Citrus Aurantium, Magnolia Bark Extract and Black Pepper.

At the time that this review was written, a one month supply of Fen HCL capsules sold on Amazon for $29.99.

The recommended dosage is to take 1 or 2 capsules on an empty stomach about 30 minutes prior to breakfast and another 1 or 2 capsules prior to lunch. Users are cautioned not take the pills too late in the day because the ingredients within the formula may cause sleeplessness. Users are also advised to first speak with their healthcare professional prior to taking this product or any supplement when starting any exercise or diet program.

How effective is Fen HCL. For starters, this OTC diet pill is meant to be used in conjunction with diet and exercise for optimal results. Secondly, its claim that it can cause appetite suppression is unfounded. None of the supposed appetite suppression-causing ingredients (ex. hoodia, cha de bugre) have been clinically proven to curb appetite.

As for the other ingredients, ginseng is believed to possibly help enhance immune system, reduce blood sugar levels, boost endurance and improve mood. Gurana, which contains caffeine, can improve mental alertness and fat burning. Magnolia bark is thought to help lower anxiety, which could reduce stress-related eating. Black Pepper helps the body to absorb ingredients more effectively and citrus aurantium – more commonly known as bitter orange – naturally contains the stimulant synephrine, which is believed to help breakdown fat and can boost the effectiveness of caffeine.

Unfortunately, while it is true that synephrine can boost the effectiveness of caffeine, it can also increase the risk of its negative side effects including insomnia, jitters, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, etc. Even worse, the FDA warns that combining caffeine with synephrine can also increase the risk of high blood pressure, stroke and heart attack, even in healthy individuals.

In addition to combining ingredients that together have the potential to produce dangerous side effects, there is not scientific proof that taking any of the ingredients as part of the Fen HCL capsule formula or individually, will lead to weight loss or help you shed measureable fat.

PhenterMAXINE

Want to get fast weight loss results and lose up to 30 pounds a month? This is the promise of PhenterMAXINE, according to its Amazon product page. This over-the-counter (OTC) dietary supplement for weight loss has been designed as a non-prescription alternative to popular prescription diet drugs like Phentermine. Supposedly delivering appetite suppression and body fat reduction, this fast-acting pharmaceutical grade quality diet pill is “ultra strong” and contains all-natural ingredients

How does PhenterMAXINE provide natural energy, fat burning and maximum appetite suppression? The only way to know is to take a look at its ingredients. Each capsule contains the following proprietary formula: Riboflavin, Vitamin C, Neacin, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Phenylethylamine Hydrochloride, Caffeine, Green Tea Extract, Bitter Orange Fruit, Flaxseed Oil Power, , Guarana Extract, Cape Aloe leaf Extract, Green Coffee Bean Extract, Yohimbe Bark Extract, Theobromine.

While containing a few vitamins as well as caffeine and green tea, both of which have been found to improve mental alertness and boost energy that could enhance fat burning during physical activity, none of these ingredients or the rest in the formula have ever been proven to effectively cause weight loss. Hence, there’s no guarantee that you’ll lose any pounds taking PhenterMAXINE, never mind 30 pounds in a month.

That being said, one of the most disturbing aspects of this diet pill is it contains multiple stimulants including three caffeinated ingredients (caffeine, guarana and green coffee bean). Due to the fact that there are no quantities listed for each individual ingredient, there’s no telling just how much caffeine is in a single serving of this product.

Be that as it may, users should be prepared for potential side effects related to stimulants including insomnia (especially if a dose is taken late in the day or the evening), headache, upset stomach, jitters, restlessness, heart palpitations, increased heart rate, anxiety, etc. Additionally, PheterMAXINE contains bitter orange fruit, which contains the stimulant synephrine. Like caffeine, this stimulant affects the central nervous system and actually enhances the effects of caffeine (both the good and the bad). The FDA has warned that combining caffeine and synephrine can result in severe cardiovascular effects, even in healthy individuals. Some of these effects may include high blood pressure, fainting, stroke and heart attack.

Users are instructed to take 1 or 2 capsules a half an hour before breakfast or as directed by their healthcare provider. At the time that this review was written, a one month supply cost $26.99.

Although an OTC dietary supplement available without a doctor’s prescription, it would still be in your best interest to speak with your medical physician before taking PhenterMAXINE to ensure that it is the safe and right choice for you.

Phen Drink

Phen Drink is an over-the-counter product for individuals who are seeking to boost their weight loss results. More specifically, it has been designed to help enhance the weight loss results of Phetermine users or those taking other diet medications. That being said, while it is marketed as a weight loss aid to complement Phentermine, it can also be taken by individuals interested in adding more water to their diet and who want to lose weight at the same time.

Phen Drink is supposed to help relieve dry mouth, help those who take it stay hydrated and increase their saliva production, as well as boost metabolic rate and suppress hunger to improve calorie and fat burning. Furthermore, it apparently manages to do all of this without increasing calories.

At the time this review was written, a one month supply, which contains 30 packages, could be purchased online for $39.95, plus shipping.

The ingredients in the Phen Drink formula include: Green Tea Extract, Chamomile Extract, Prickly Ash, EGCG, Ginger, Guarana Extract, Lemongrass, Lo Han Fruit, and Stevia Leaf. Users are instructed to take one packet of Phen Drink per day. The single packet of powder should be emptied into a 1 liter (33 ounce) bottle of water. Users should shake the water thoroughly and have the drink throughout the day.

Each of the ingredients within the powdered formula supposedly provides a specific advantage. For instance, Chamomile helps in the stimulation of digestion, alleviates bloating, and increases saliva production. Guarana provides an energy boost, and may also help to suppress appetite and increase alertness. EGCG is thought to have a positive effect on weight management. Green tea helps to prevent dry mouth by triggering saliva. Prickly Ash also increases saliva production and Giver is believed to boost metabolism and add flavor.

While the effects of each of these ingredients sound promising, there is no evidence that they truly benefit weight loss. What’s more, this product contains guarana, which is considered to be even more potent than regular caffeine. Therefore, it could cause adverse effects (ex. heart palpitations, sleeplessness, jitters, headache, etc.) in those who have sensitivities to stimulants or who may be ingesting other products containing stimulants.

Although you do not need a doctor’s prescription to take this product, you should still consult with your healthcare provider before taking PhenDrink. This is especially important if you will be combining it with another diet drug or weight loss supplement, or any other medication you may be taking.
