Fentalena

Fentalena is an over-the-counter (OTC) diet pill designed for women. According to the official product website, this pill can help women lose weight because “it attacks your fat loss in 3 proven female approved ways!” The “proven” ways include thermogenisis, suppressing appetite and providing more energy. All of these advantages combined lead to weight loss by enabling women to feel more energized, burn body fat faster, and feel less hungry.

The Fentalena formula contains a propriety blend that is made up: Garcinia Cambogia Extract, Raspberry Ketones, Green Coffee Bean Extract, Yohimbe Bark Extract, Green Tea Leaf, Acai Fruit Extract, Goji Fruit Extract, Pomegranate Fruit Extract, Cinnamon Twig, Noni Fruit Extract, Galangal Rhizome, Naringin, Glucuronloactone, Hoodia godonii extract, Guggulsterones E & Z. Additionally, Thiamne, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, and Pantothenic Acid are also part of the ingredients list.

While at first glance these may look like some stellar ingredients, one of the main problems is that there are a lot of them in the formula. This either means that there is a generous dose of a couple of ingredients and a limited amount of the rest or a limited amount of all the ingredients. Whatever the case, the reality is that no matter what positive effects these ingredients have on weight loss, there is unlikely to be a sufficient amount of each to actually result in any beneficial effects.

With that in mind, essentially this formula is composed of ingredients that the OTC weight loss industry claims are energy boosters and fat burners (ex. green coffee bean, green tea, Vitamin B12), fat blockers (ex. raspberry ketones, garcinia cambogia), and appetite suppressants (ex. hoodia). Unfortunately, there is insufficient clinical research for these ingredients and all the others within this formula in terms of their effectiveness for weight loss. While caffeine (which is found in both green coffee bean and green tea), has scientifically been proven to increase fat burning when combined with physical activity, fat burning doesn’t mean that weight loss will necessarily occur.

It should also be noted that Fentalena is meant to be used in combination with a calorie-conscious diet and regular exercise. While there is no guarantee that this diet pill will help you lose weight, even if it does, it will not do so on its own. You will still need to exercise and control your diet in order to experience measurable weight loss.

At the time that this review was written a bottle of Fentalena could be purchased on Amazon for $39.97. Although this might seem like a reasonable price, when you factor in that one bottle contains only 60 pills and one serving consist of 3 capsules, the cost of using Fentalena can add up pretty quickly, considering one bottle won’t last you a month.

The most common side effects likely to occur when taking this product include stomach upset, restlessness, sleeplessness and jitters, among others.

Prior to taking Fentalen it would be wise to first consult with your healthcare provider.

PhenPhast Advanced

PhenPhast Advanced is a non-prescription diet pill that promises rapid weight loss with its “double –strength” formula. It should come as no surprise that this dietary supplement from NaturaPrime promises appetite suppression. The reason is that the vast majority of over-the-counter (OTC) weight loss products that have the word “phen” in their name are marketed as alternatives to the prescription diet drug Phentermine.

PhenPhast supposedly works as a thermogenic, boosting metabolism and enhancing fat loss. In addition to suppressing appetite it also claims to improve focus and boost energy levels.

The formula consists of a PhenPhast Advanced Complex, which is composed of a 1,000 mg per serving of L-Carnitine, L-Arginine, L-Ornithine, L-Glutamine, Tyrosine, Tryptophan, Beta-Alanine, GABA, Chromium, Hoodia, Grapefruit Powder, African Mango, Green Tea Leaf Extract, EGCG, Panax Ginseng, Glycyrrhizin Extract, Gymnema Sylvestre, Coleus Forskohlii, Grape Seed Extract, Astragalus, and Maca Powder.

Unfortunately, there are no clinical trials to backup any of the claims made about this product. Furthermore, none of the ingredients – not even those that have been proven to improve mental focus and help with fat burning (ex. Green Tea), have ever been scientifically proven to cause weight loss.

Furthermore, it is also important to point out that right on the PhenPhast product label it states that the product is “non-stimulating”. However, you might have noticed in the list of ingredients that it contains Green Tea Leaf Extract which typically contains caffeine. However, the caffeine in green tea is often so mild that it is unlikely to cause the harsher side effects associated with caffeine anhydrous, such as insomnia, jitters, rapid heartbeat, etc. Be that as it may, the product doesn’t tell you how much green tea is in each serving. Still, the term “non-stimulating” is not the same as “stimulant-free”. The product isn’t claiming to be without stimulants only that it won’t cause stimulating effects.

At the time that this review was written, PhenPhast Advanced sold on Amazon for $23.99. Each bottled contains 60 capsules (a one month supply). Users are instructed to take 2 capsules per day with an 8 ounce glass of water. Beyond this suggested use instruction, there are no other directions for users (ex. when to take the pills, if they should be taken together, if they should be taken on an empty stomach or with food, etc.).

Prior to taking PhenPhast Advanced it would be a good idea to first consult with your healthcare provider. He or she can help you decide if PhenPhast is a good choice for your particular lifestyle, state of health and your weight loss goals.

Phenternin

Phenternin, also known as Phenternin Hoodia, is a dietary supplement that is meant to help a person lose weight by suppressing their appetite. Its only active ingredient is Hoodia. While this may not sound very revolutionary, Phenternin claims that it is the top-rated hoodia supplement because it contains real hoodia gordonii.

The sole active ingredient in Phenternin is Hoodia Gordonii, which is considered to be pure hoodia. The makers of Phenternin claim that the pure hoodia they use in their formula comes from the specific region in South Africa where the plant that contains the appetite suppressing qualities only grows. Pure hoodia gordonii contains P57, which researchers believe is what causes appetite suppression.

P57 is a molecule that is believed to affect the hypothalamus in the brain. This is the part of the brain that is responsible for appetite control. The hoodia in Phenternin supposedly releases a chemical that is like glucose, which tricks the hypothalamus into thinking that enough food has been ingested, so the brain thinks that hunger has been satisfied.

To prove the authenticity of its product, Phenternin provides consumers online access to its various certificates of authenticity and permits, such as USDA protected plant permit, South African Government Certificate of Authenticity, CITES certificate, and Phytosanitary permit, on its official website.

While it does appear that Phenternin does contain a pure form of hoodia, and may indeed be a better choice than some of the other hoodia supplements for weight loss on the market, the one major problem is that there is no solid proof that pure hoodia causes appetite suppression. There isn’t enough conclusive scientific evidence to prove that it does or does not work. This means there is no guarantee that Phenternin will suppress appetite.

In addition, while no major side effects have been linked to hoodia, it may not be safe for everyone to take. This product is for adults only and pregnant women should avoid taking this product. Furthermore, women who are breast feeding, and anyone with an existing medical condition or who may be taking any other medications or supplements, should first speak with their healthcare provider before taking Phenternin.

At the time this review was written, one bottle of Phenternin containing 90 pills cost $44.99. It is recommended for users to take 1 pill 30 to 60 minutes before each major meal, 3 times daily, with an 8 ounce glass of water. A maximum of 6 pills can be taken per day. For the most effective weight loss results, this product is meant to be taken in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise plan. Talk to your doctor if you think Phenternin is right for you.
