Apidextra

Apidextra is a non-prescription diet pill that is supposedly a “clinical strength weight loss supplement” that delivers fast powerful weight loss results. It has been designed to:

  • Burn fat
  • Suppress appetite
  • Amplify metabolism

These benefits sound very promising, especially for dieters who are seeking this type of support for their weight loss efforts. However, it’s one thing for a manufacturer to claim that its nonprescription diet pill can provide these benefits and another for their claims to actually be true.

The best way to find out if there is any truth to the claims is to examine the ingredients.

Five “Powerful” Ingredients

According to the official product page for Apidextra, the formula contains five powerful and “scientifically proven ingredients”. These include:

  • Greenselect Phytosome Green Tea
  • Irvingia Gabonensis
  • Green Coffee Bean Extract
  • Coenzyme Q10
  • Caffeine Anhydrous

However, at the time this review was written, the amounts of each ingredient contained within the formula and whether or not there are other ingredients was not provided on the site.

Ingredients Have Been Tested, Not Proven

While it is true that the ingredients found within Apidextra have been scientifically tested, they have not been clinically proven to be effective for weight loss.

That being said, according to the official Apidextra site, some research has found that these ingredients do offer certain benefits. For instance:

  • Green tea extract can boost metabolism in some people and help with fat burning.
  • Irvingia Gabonensis showed in one study that it has the potential to burn fat and reduce appetite.
  • Green coffee bean is believed to be an effective fat burner and boosts fat metabolism.
  • Coenzyme Q10 supposedly increases metabolic rate and burns calories.
  • Caffeine anhydrous can provide an energy boost and suppress appetite in some people.

Thus, while this research does suggest these ingredients do show some promise in terms of being beneficial in assisting certain individuals in losing weight, there is no solid evidence that proves them to be effective. Moreover, the official product page did not include any citations to this research to backup its claim.

Therefore, while the official product page for Apidextra proclaims “The fact is Apidextra works!” and that the “formula is even more powerful than the most prescribed diet pills that work,” these statements lack credibility because they are not based on anything. The diet pill itself has never been tested.

Additionally, it is important to note that making such a tall claim that a dietary supplement can be even more powerful that most prescribed diet pills is nothing short of ridiculous. There are no legal or recognized nonprescription alternatives to Adipex-P (phentermine), which this diet pill is clearly trying to pretend to be with a name like “Apidextra.” Unlike FDA-approved diet drugs, Apidextra is not a treatment for obesity or weight loss.

Apidextra Side Effects

As for side effects, the main concern is that the formula contains more than one stimulant, which can increase the risk of unpleasant side effects such as:

  • Insomnia
  • Jitters
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Mood swings
  • Rapid heartbeat

For this reason, anyone who takes Apidextra should avoid ingesting other products with stimulants and should refrain from taking this product too close to bedtime to avoid problems. Research has shown that excess caffeine consumption can be potentially harmful.

With that said, prior to using this product, it would be wise to play it safe and consult with your healthcare provider, even if you don’t have existing health conditions and are not taking medications.

When this Apidextra review was written, a one-month supply containing 60 capsules cost $49.95 and came with a 90-day money-back guarantee. Users are instructed to take 1 to 2 capsules daily: one capsule before breakfast and one capsule before lunch or before exercise.

Update – March 2020

If you are in search of Apidextra, you won’t find it for sale anywhere online today. This diet pill isn’t on any digital shelves likely because it has been discontinued. This is probably for the best due to the lack of information there was to back up the claims that were made about it.

There are other nonprescription diet pills on the market today of better quality and integrity that can help offer you support for your dieting and exercising weight management goals. Just remember that it is best not to trust any OTC product that claims to be just as good as or better than diet drugs.

Fenphedra PM

Fenphedra PM is a diet pill for nighttime weight loss. It is a non-prescription formula that is caffeine-free and could help you to jump start your diet while you’re sleeping. The company behind this dietary supplement doesn’t pretend to promise users that they will obtain overnight weight loss results from taking this product. They also don’t claim that weight loss will occur without exercise.

While it is refreshing to see a company state that their weight loss support dietary supplements are not miracle pills, at the same time, the official product page for Fenphedra PM doesn’t exactly state in what ways the product does aid with weight loss. In fact, beyond the ingredients list and the directions, no other real beneficial information is provided about this PM diet pill.

This means, the only way to really know what type of potential positive effects this pill might have as a weight management aid, is to check out its ingredients.

When this Fenphedra PM review was written, each serving of the formula (2 capsules), contained the following ingredients: Vitamin C (60 mg), Vitamin D3 (800 IU), Chromium (60 mcg), Chromax (500 mcg), GABA (500 mg), Irvingia Gabonensis (300 mg), Magnolia Bark Extract (150 mg), Phellodendron Amurense Bark (150 mg), Melatonin (2.5 mg), LactoSpore (100 Million CFU).

Based on the above list, it’s clear that Fenphedra PM has been primarily formulated with appetite suppressants and herbs that aid in sleep and relaxation. That being said, the three key ingredients include:

GABA – may help to reduce blood pressure and may also play a role in energy balance. It is well-known for calming nervous activity in the brain and may function like a natural tranquilizer.

Chromax – is believed to help glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, appetite control, weight management and energy support.

Irvingia Gabonensis – may lower cholesterol and may also affect fat cells, lowering fat cell growth and boosting the breakdown of fats.

That being said, while none of these ingredients have been proven effective for weight loss, even if they were, they are not likely to do much for you while you sleep. In other words, taking Fenphedra PM is not likely to cause any additional fat burning beyond what you would naturally achieve from sleep alone. Still, the product may be beneficial as a sleep aid, due to ingredients like GABA and melatonin. Studies have linked better sleep with increased fat burning, so there is some benefit to a product such as this.

The recommended dose is to take 2 capsules with 8 to 12 ounces of water, about 1 – 2 hours before bedtime. Users are cautioned not to exceed the recommend dose and not to take this product with alcohol. They are also cautioned not to drive or operate heavy machinery after taking it.

Pregnant and nursing women should avoid taking this product. You should also speak with your doctor prior to taking this product if you are currently taking other medicine or have a known medical condition.

When this review was created, a bottle of Fenphedra PM could be purchased on the official product site for $29.95.

Apidren Super Shredded

If you want to melt fat from your body, boost your metabolism and feel great while you’re doing it, Apidren Super Shredded promises to help you do just that. This product comes from NutriPharm and supposedly contains all natural and powerful ingredients to help you lose weight in a healthy and natural way. When this review was written, a single bottle of Apidren Super Shredded could be purchased on Amazon for $59.99.

The ingredients in the Apidren Super Shredded formula included the following: Vitamin B12, Chromium, Garcinia Cambogia, Green Coffee Bean, Irvingia Gabonensis, Razberi-K, Phenylthylamine, ThermoDiamine.

The recommended dosage is to take 2 capsules 30 minutes prior to breakfast, lunch and/or exercise with 8-16 ounces of water. The manufacturer cautions not to exceed the recommended dosage and not to take it within 6 hours of bedtime. Due to the fact that there are stimulants in this product it makes sense that users should avoid taking this dietary supplement before bed to lower the risk of insomnia or sleep disturbances.

What isn’t quite clear is the caution that was made in reference not to exceed the recommended dose. The reason is the product label isn’t quite clear on what that recommended dose might be. Based on the way it is written, the maximum dose per day could be only 2 pills (either taken at breakfast lunch or before exercise) or as many as 6 pills (2 pills before breakfast, lunch and exercise). The fact that the directions are not clearly laid out is a sign of this product’s lack of integrity.

On the plus side, Apidren Super Shredded is GMP certified and is manufactured in the USA. It is also free from any fillers or questionable ingredients and does have full ingredient transparency. Each of these points help to build the product’s quality.

Unfortunately, beyond these points, this dietary supplement offers very little else that is positive. For starters, none of the ingredients within its formula have been clinically proven to be effective weight loss aids. What this means is that there is no guarantee that you will lose weight if you take this product. It also means that there is no guarantee that it’s safe to take either.

Still, if you feel like Apidren Super Shredded is worth a try, it is strongly recommended that you first speak to your healthcare provider about your weight loss goals and plans before you add this pill to your weight loss regimen and diet.
