Phenterex

Phenterex is a nonprescription weight management aid that claims to function as both an appetite suppressant and fat burner. Moreover, not only does it supposedly boost energy, suppress the appetite and burn fat like the prescription diet drug, Phentermine, the claim is that this dietary supplement can also boost thermogenic body heat.

What Phenterex Claims to Do for You

According to the official product page at the time that this Phenterex review was written, those who take the product can expect to quickly lose weight, and reshape their body by:

  • Melting away cellulite
  • Melting away flab
  • Melting away fat

Already, the claims about this product sound a little too good to be true. For starters, while losing weight can help to minimize the appearance of cellulite in certain people, no product has ever been proven to “melt” it away. Too-good-to-be-true promises such as this one leads one to question just how effective Phenterex is for weight loss. To answer this question, it is important to take a look at its ingredients.

A Look Inside the Formula

The Phenterex ingredients that could be found within the formula when this review was created included the following:

  • Vitamin B-6,
  • Theobromine,
  • Iodine,
  • Cayenne Pepper,
  • Chromium,
  • Green Tea Leaf,
  • Guarana,
  • Garcinia Cambogia,
  • Chitosan,
  • Gymnema,
  • Banaba,
  • Calcium Pyruvate,
  • Apple Cider Vinegar,
  • Grapefruit,
  • White Willow Bark,
  • Uva Ursi,
  • Coleus Forskohlii,
  • Juniper Berry,
  • Buchu Leaves

While the official site states that the formula contains “the finest and most premium ingredients that are required for optimal weight loss,” there is no clinical evidence provided to back up this claim. Furthermore, none of these ingredients have been sufficiently studied to be proven effective for weight loss. Since this is the case, there is no actual guarantee that you will lose weight from taking this product.

Potential Side Effects

Furthermore, it should not go unmentioned that certain ingredients within Phenterex may cause adverse side effects in some people. For instance, there are multiple stimulants in the formula, including Green Tea Leaf and Guarana. Stimulants can increase the risk of:

  • Insomnia
  • Heartburn
  • Upset stomach
  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Mood changes
  • Dizziness
  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Anxiety
  • Restlessness

According to the official product webpage, those who take Penterex should supposedly begin experiencing weight loss within 2 weeks of taking the pills. This pill should be taken in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise program. At the time that this review was written, a single bottle containing 60 tablets cost $44.98 online.

Don’t Blindly Trust the Claims

Remember, no matter how impressive the manufacturer may make this product sound, there is zero proof that it can help you with your weight loss goals or that it is even safe to take. Moreover, due to the large number of ingredients in the formula, it is unlikely that there are sufficient quantities of each supplement for them to provide any real benefit, even if there was proof that they were effective.

Anyone who is considering taking Phenterex should speak with their medical physician. This is particularly important if you have a known health condition, or if you are currently taking prescription medication, nonprescription products, or herbal supplements.

It is also important to inform your doctor if you are pregnant, nursing a baby or are planning on becoming pregnant. As a general precaution, you should never take any weight loss product without first making sure that it is safe for you to do so.

August 2019 Update: Phenterex is no longer available. An official website could not be found for this product and it was not sold online. It is likely that it has been discontinued, although it may also have been reformulated or is being sold under a different name. Whatever the case may be, it no longer exists as the product reviewed above.

Lean 700

Lean 700 is a diet pill from GenXLabs. This dietary supplement has been designed to support appetite control, body fat loss, metabolism to burn more fat, and more calorie burning. Like prescription diet drug, Phentermine, this non-prescription weight management aid attempts to help a person in their efforts to suppress appetite and boost energy for the purpose of burning more fat and calories. That being said, GenXLabs does not claim that Lean 700 is a phentermine alternative.

When this Lean 700 review was written, the ingredients in the formula included: Vitamin B6, Chromium, GenXLabs Thermo (Dandelion Root, Caffeine Anhydrous, White Willow Bark, Green Tea Extract, Cissus Quadrangularis, L-Theanine, L-Carnitine, L-Tartrate, N-methyltyramine, Hordenine HCl, Higenamine HCl, Synephrine HCl).

The suggested use is to first assess tolerance by begin taking 1 capsule in the morning before food. Once tolerance has been assessed, the user may then take another (1) capsule, 4 to 6 hours after the first morning dose. It is recommended that users drink 16oz of water when taking a pill, and they are cautioned not to take a dose within 6 hours of bedtime and not to exceed more than 2 capsules daily.

In regard to its effectiveness, it is unknown if Lean 700 will deliver on any of the benefits it claims to provide (e.g. appetite suppression, boosted energy, etc.). The reason is that the product itself has not been clinically studied or proven effective. Furthermore, although many of its ingredients have been clinically studied, they have not been clinically proven effective for aiding in or causing weight loss, either.

That being said, a quick glance at the above ingredients reveals that it contains multiple diuretics and stimulants. This means that it is possible that you will lose water weight by taking Lean 700, as diuretics cause you to urinate more frequently. It also means that there is a chance you will experience a boost in mental alertness, due to the stimulant ingredients in the formula.

However, losing water weight is not the same as losing actual fat, and it is not a long-term weight loss solution. Moreover, although stimulants can be beneficial in helping you to stay alert, which could help you in your efforts to keep up with exercise, Lean 700 not only combines multiple stimulants but caffeine and synephrine.

Although synephrine does seem to boost the effects of caffeine, this means that it boosts its negative effects as well, potentially increasing the risk of unwanted effects, such as insomnia, jitters, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, and even more serious side effects like high blood pressure, stoke, and heart attack.

When this review was created, Lean 700 could be purchased on its official GenXLabs product page for $34.99.

It is strongly recommended that you first speak with your healthcare provider before taking Lean 700 if this diet pill is of interest to you.

Fedramine

Fedramine is a non-prescription weight loss pill that was created by Internet Marketing Solutions Group, LLC to suppress appetite, boost metabolism and increase energy levels. Based on its name it is clear that this over-the-counter diet pill was designed to be used as an OTC alternative to prescription diet drugs like phentermine and also as an alternative to banned OTC weight loss supplement Ephedra.

At the time that this review was written, while you could purchase a bottle of Fedramine on the internet for around $45, an official product page did not exist. This could imply that the product has been discontinued or soon will be.

Each red and purple capsule contains the following ingredients: Citrus Aurantium, Metabromine, Green Tea, Chromium, White Willow Bark, and Guarana.

Research has found that citrus aurantium, also known as bitter orange, is an energy enhancer that works on the central nervous system. It contains a natural stimulant called synephrine. The belief is that it can help aid weight loss by burning body fat, and curbing appetite.

Metabromine is believed to have a stimulant effect without over-stimulating the nervous system, so it provides a boost of energy but is not as potent as caffeine.

Containing a group of antioxidants known as catechins as well as caffeine, green tea is believed to boost thermogenesis (burning fat as energy to produce heat) in the body and can help to boost metabolism.

Studies have found that Chromium can lower blood lipid levels and may help to produce weight loss. It may also lower insulin levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes.

White Willow Bark may help to reduce pain and inflammation. For weight loss, some believe that this herb can be beneficial because it helps to improve general feelings of wellbeing which may make it easier for people to stick with their goals and maintain motivation.

Guarana is naturally high in caffeine and can help a person feel more mentally alert and may also help to boost metabolism and lead to more fat burning when combined with physical activity. It may even suppress appetite in some people.

Unfortunately, in spite of some interesting findings, none of these ingredients have ever been sufficiently studied to solidly prove that they are effective for aiding in or causing weight loss. Even caffeine, which is a known energy booster and fat burner, won’t necessarily cause weight loss.

Furthermore, anyone who is interested in taking Fedramine should be aware that this product contains many stimulants, including 2 ingredients containing caffeine. Furthermore, it contains synephrine, which enhances the effects of caffeine (both good and bad). Therefore, while you will receive a greater energy boost, you will also be at a great risk of unpleasant side effects including insomnia, jitters, rapid heartbeat, anxiety and upset stomach. The combination of synephrine and caffeine may also lead to more serious risks including high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke. You should avoid taking this supplement too close to your bedtime.

If you are interested in taking Fedramine, you should first consult with your healthcare provider to make sure it is safe for you. Individuals under the age of 18, pregnant or nursing women and individuals with diabetes should avoid taking this product.

Phenamax

Phenamax is a dietary supplement for weight loss that has been designed to appeal to dieters who are interested in taking an OTC alternative to prescription Phentermine. The goal of this weight loss supplement is to help you boost your energy and metabolism and reduce your appetite. It also supposedly helps to bolster your stamina and endurance during exercise. All in all, it sounds like a fairly decent formula, but just how effective is it?

In spite of the claims made about the efficacy of Phenamax, there are certain aspects that might make one doubt the veracity of these claims. For starters, this product did not have an official website at the time this review was written. Furthermore, a single bottle of 60 capsules cost $10.35, leaving the impression that such a low cost could imply that the product has been or will soon be discontinued. In addition, none of the ingredients within its formula have been scientifically proven to aid a person in losing weight.

With that in mind, the following are the ingredients found within each Phenamax capsule: Vitamin B6, Citrin (50% HCA-Hydroxy Citric Acid), Yerba Mate Bark, Green Tea Leaf Extract, Guarana Seed, White Willow Bark, Cha De Bugre, Hordenine, Forslean Coleus STD 10% Forskohlin, and Acacia Gum.

Due to the fact that there is no solid evidence than any of its ingredients facilitate weight loss, and there are no studies, or even an official website to backup any of the claims made about Phenamax, there is no proof that this pill will even work. Always remember that scientifically tested is not the same as scientifically proven.

That being said, what this supplement is likely to do is make you alert and energized. The reason is it contains multiple stimulants or ingredients containing stimulants, such as yerba mate, guarana, and hordenine. However, while these ingredients may help to boost energy levels, they also carry the risk of certain side effects including sleep disturbances, anxiety, jitters, and so on.

Users are instructed to take Phenamax in combination with a balanced diet and regular exercise. The recommended dosage is to take 2 pills daily, preferably in the morning with lots of water. No other instructions are provided.

Before taking Phenamax, definitely consult with your healthcare provider. Your doctor can help you to determine what product is the ideal choice for your weight loss goals, and which one is the most suitable and safe for your current health requirements and lifestyle.
